You ebb and flow like the ocean waves,
Rolling in and out on these west coast shores
Tossing the stones and sand-
Letting them tumble all over themselves
In a rythmic chaos
Just like all these memories and thoughts of you
Each tiny grain held fast in my mind,
But sent reeling through my head.

Each month crawling further up the beach;
Sneaking up on me
And then in the same fashion,
Inching back out to sea.

The wind whistling in my ear,
Like all these whispers
That I've manifested in your name
All these stories and make-believe,
Cold and frosty - numbing my limbs just like the Pacific.

Each month crawling further up the beach;
Sneaking up on me
And then in the same fashion,
Inching back out to sea.

A plume of smoke dances about my face
As the cigarette burns to ashes between my fingers
Starved for attention as my mind preoccupies itself.
A caress of your name on my tongue;
Your face contemplated in my mind;
And your actions being deliberated.

When finally the rain begins to trickle down like tears...
So I stand and turn away
To follow the path back to civilization and reality
Letting the rain wash you away
And clensed, I turn from the ocean,
As though you were never there at all.

Each month crawling further in;
Sneaking up on me
And in the same fashion,
Inching away, to be free...

Sounds like something I most definately could relate to a relationship :P The words are well manipulated and I enjoyed reading the poem ^^

I love the mystery of the weather and the every day pieces of our lives that you used.

A wretched soul, bruised with adversity,
We bid be quiet when we hear it cry;
But were we burdened with like weight of pain,
As much or more we should ourselves complain.

Aww thankyou, that means a lot. Thats what i love about love poems/movies/novels. Its so easy to relate, so they seriously tug on your emotions.

No Matter How Far I Go.. My Heart Remains With You
A response poem for you, if I may. This is a madrigal. Your ocean poem reminded me of a delightful summer night (unrequited alas) I spent with a beloved friend down by the ocean, walking in the moonlight along the beach in the warm summer night.

When Summer Nights Were High

I’ve dreamt of you more nights than I
admit, those nights when I saw you,
just you, when summer nights were high;

those nights when just your smallest sigh
ignites in me that passion new;
I’ve dreamt of you more nights than I
admit, those nights when I saw you,

and wondering if your passion’d cry
might tell a tale of you more true
than I could pry with gaudy lie;
I’ve dreamt of you more nights than I
admit, those nights when I saw you,
just you, when summer nights were high.

My pond aerator is bubbling as it should.
This is lovely. I really appreciate that you were inspired by my poem. That means a lot to me :heart: Poetry is just a side step of my art, I sure don't write as much as I used to, but if I have one goal with my poetry it is to inspire and move people. So I thank you wholely for your poetic reply :)
